26-2-02-Ok Thanx for coming to the punk4now official homepage. PUNK4Now is a Homepage that will guide ya average punk through the in's and out's of punk. That don't just mean the music. That means the fashions, the beliefs, the politics. All these are just as bigger part of part as 4snotty kids with died hair singing songs about bringing down the goverment. As this is the first time i've posted anything here we'll keep it simple. Whether punk began in UK or US it was still the same kinda thing in both places. While punk broke in the UK thanx to Sex Pistols, Clash and The Damned, in the US it never achieved the chart status except for bands like The New York Dolls. Well then y'know The Sex Pistols split yadayadayada and in the 80's punk remained fairly underground although that doesnt mean there wern't good bands. In fact in the 80's some of the best punk bands formed and also some punk bands re-defined what being punk was all about. Bands like Operation Ivy challenged the mould by mixing their punk with a lick of Specials influenced ska.Despite the junk that's since followed on from this Operation Ivy were the 1st real ska-punk band. Bad Religion too formed a unique sound in the 80's, which was christened So-Cal and was influenced by the likes of THe Descendant's and Early Black Flag.More soon
