The Comic Panel

Superheroes and the world of comics right at your cyber doorstep.

Welcome to The Comic Panel, a website that gives you up-to-date info on comic books and comic-related stuff, character profiles, and, of course, my personal comic collection.

Due to webhosting restrictions, I can only have four pages on the site. On this page, you will find this message (duh!), comic news, and the legal disclaimer (also know as "the junk area"). On the "Character Rundowns" page, you will find bios and info on characters that I am quite fond of (such as Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, etc., etc.). Finally, on the "My Collection" page, you will find synopsises, ratings, and other info on all of the books in my large collection. The collection page may be the only page under construction for quite a while. I hope you enjoy! See ya in the funnies!

SITE UPDATES--

3/12/02: All right, I got a little confused and made a mistake. I can have three pages other than this one, meaning that I will have four all-together. So the message above has been changed. As for what will be on the fourth page, I do not know yet. Maybe I'll move the news there or perhaps have a special all-Spider-Man page. I'll think about it. But as for now, everything stays the same. Below, I've added several news sections and started The Comic Panel's first-ever ongoing new series: "WEB WATCH!" It's all about the upcoming Sony Spider-Man flick, so check it out!

3/11/02: The Character Rundowns page is now open, as you can see by the link below. Other characters (including villains and supporting characters) will be added soon. Also, I've removed the green bullets as I find that too many of them on one page can be quite annoying. One more thing: I'd like to salute all of the safety enforcers in America (the police, firefighters, search and rescue workers, and everyone else that I've neglected to mention) on this day, the sixth month anniversary of the horrendous World Trade Center attacks. God bless you.

3/10/02: Site construction has begun! ::looks over and sees men eating lunch:: Get back to work, ya bums! Hopefully, the site will be ready to run (can you smell a Dixie Chicks song?) shortly. Until then, stay tuned!

TV NEWS

3/12/02--

Smallville airs tonight on the WB at 9:00 PM. This week's episode is titled "Zero." No clue has to what it's about, though, so tune in and watch!

In more "small" news, Smallville is gaining momentum quickly with each week's episode improving upon the last! The show has also been featured on the cover of several magazines, some of those which are TV Guide, Sci-Fi Magazine, Cinescape, MAD, and Wizard. They're talking about a possible Bruce Wayne guest appearance, which might prove to be a very good move for the series, showing that it can crisscross with the rest of the DC Universe. That is, if DC will allow. Also, the series has been picked up for a complete season. Here's to hoping for Season 2!

Saturday at 7:00 PM on Cartoon Network, the Justice League movie will be on "Cartoon Theater."

MOVIE NEWS

3/12/02--

Not much to say here today, though X-Men 2 (with a simple working title of "X") is slated for shooting to start in May and a release one year later in May of 2003. Also, The Hulk, directed by Ang Lee, is moving along at a steady pace, with John Williams in negotiations to compose the film's music and some casting choices already made (including Eric Bana as Bruce Bannah, er, Banner). Wonder why there's no Spidey movie news here? Check below for the very first Comic Panel news series, "WEB WATCH!"

WEB WATCH

3/12/02--

As the May 3 release of Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" nears, the hype is building faster than a comic book collection. The film will star Toby McGuire (Peter Parker/Spidey), Kirsten Dunst (Mary Jane Watson), Willem Dafoe (Norman Osborne), and other talented actors making up the rest of Spidey's colorful supporting cast. The February issue of Wizard: The Comics Magazine has some very nice pics of (and behind the scenes of) the movie, so go pick it up. Also, the Spider-Man trailer has hit the screen, and boy, was it awesome! Call me lame, but I shivered and almost cried when I saw it. For me, this is the most anxiously-awaited movie of all time, as I've followed it ever since the rumors in the mid-'90s. If you haven't seen it, go to www.sony.com/spiderman and watch it! Also, while I was watching The Simpsons on Sunday, I saw the trailer (with several minutes cut off) during a commercial break. Cool.

Want to get your hands on the new Spidey movie tie-in toys? Then wait no longer, because they've hit the shelves. The toys that they have out now are Super Poseable Spider-Man, Super Poseable Green Goblin, Norman Osborne, J. Jonah Jameson, Battle Ravaged Spider-Man, Dual Action Web Blaster, webbing cans, Green Goblin Glider Bump 'N Go Cycle, Spider-Man Motorcycle Bump 'N Go Cycle, and Spider-Man Truck Bump 'N Go Cycle. At least that's all I've seen. I was able to pick up Spidey, JJJ, the web blaster, and the Goblin Bump 'N Go Cycle. And I can tell you this: Four stars! Also, note that the packaging on the action figures says "Series 1." Hmmm...
